    Nathaniel Conant [#8], s/o Lot Conant, b. Beverly 28 Jul 1650, d. 1732, m. Hannah Mansfield.

    Will of "Nathaniel [Nathanael] Conant Senior [Sen'r] of the Town of Bridgewater ... yeoman", dated 3 Jul 1712, proved 24 Aug 1735 [sic, this is a misreading, the year is 1732, see attached comment], names wife Hannah; eldest son Nathaniel [Nathanael] Conant; son Josiah Conant; youngest son Lot Conant; 3 eldest daughters Bethiah [Bithia], Hannah, and Martha; two youngest daughter Lydia and Rebecah [Rebekah]. Wife Hannah and son Nathaniel [Nathanael] to be executors.
    [Note: corrections based on hand written will in probate file, cited below}

    He had already given away most of his estate - land to Nathaniel, 20 pounds to Josiah, and 12 pounds to the married daughters. Lot got the homestead after Hannah's death, and the younger daughters got the remains of the personal property.

    [Note: the inventory is sworn to in 1732 by Nathaniel the son who is named executor at that time, so qualitatively, proving the will in 1735 is impossible. Specifically, the year in the statement that proves the will looks like 'tivo' which Conant interpreted as 'five', but the 'iv' is really a w with a faded line, making it 'two'.]
