    Nancy Robinson was born 1784-1790 VA. She married Stephen Allen, Jr., 2 March 1805 Shelby County, KY.
    Stephen, son of Stephen Allen, Sr., was born 1775-1784. He is listed in the 1810
    & 1820 censuses of Shelby County, KY. He died in 1823. He wrote his will on 3
    October 1818 and it was recorded in Shelby County, KY 17 November 1823;
    witnesses were George R. Carson & Joel Adams (Shelby County, KY Will Book
    6 pp151-152). He appointed his brothers, William & Joseph Allen, executors of
    his estate. He left his estate to his wife, Nancy Allen, and at her death to his two
    children, Joseph & Elizabeth. His widow, Nancy Allen, is listed in the 1830
    census of Shelby County, KY; in her home was a male & a female, both aged 20-
    30. Nancy and her two children moved to Montgomery County, IN during 1830-
    1835. Nancy’s brother-in-law, William Allen, also moved to Montgomery
    County, IN; he married Patsy Kerns in 1802 in Shelby County, KY. Nancy
    (Robinson) Allen died in 1846 Montgomery County, IN. She wrote her will on 11
    January 1845 and it was probated on 10 October 1846 (Montgomery County, IN
    Probate Order Bok 3, p484). In her will she named two children, Joseph Allen &
    Elizabeth Jackson. The executors of her estate were her son, Joseph Allen, and her
    nephew, William Carson. Nancy & Stephen Allen were parents of –
    • Joseph, ‘Big Joe’ born 10 March 1808 Shelby County, KY. He married
    Margery James (1808-1873), 18 December 1828 Shelby County, KY,
    daughter of Johnnie James & Martha Kerns. In Montgomery County, IN
    Joseph served as a justice of the court and during 1847-1851 as sheriff.
    Joseph died 21 January 1872 and was buried Indian Creek Hill Cemetery
    in Montgomery County, IN.
    • Elizabeth, ‘Betsy, born 1806-1810 Shelby County, KY. She died of dropsy
    during 1846-1850 in Montgomery County, IN. She married Griffin
    Jackson (c1808-after 1880), 14 May 1835 Montgomery County, IN.
