John F. Robinson was born c1783 VA. He married Polly. He is listed in the Shelby County, KY 1804-1816 tax lists. In the 1810 census of Shelby County, he was shown as being a resident of the town of Shelbyville; in his household were two males, one age 16-26 & one under 10 and 2 females, one over 45 & one 10-16. He died 1816-1817. John F. Robinson wrote his will on 27 December 1816 and it was recorded in Shelby County in March 1817; to my wife, Polly – plantation on which I live; my three children - George, Matilda, and Joseph; I appoint my wife and my nephew, William Gillaspy, executors; witnesses: John Gillaspy and Samson Marmaduke (Shelby County, KY Will Book 3, p544). Polly Robinson & William Gillaspy were appointed executors of his estate on 17 March 1817. In Shelby County Will Book 4, p11 an inventory (22 March 1817) and a sale bill of his estate (24 March 1817) were recorded and in Will Book 4 p248 a list of monies received by the estate was recorded. His widow, Polly, appeared in his place in the 1817 tax list of Shelby County. Polly married Peter Troutman (1769-1836), 9 November 1818 Shelby County, KY. Polly Troutman died 1824-1827 Bartholomew County, IN. Children of John F. & Polly Robinson were –
• George born 1807-1810 Shelby County, KY, married Angelica Irwin, 20 July 1837 Bartholomew County, IN.
• Matilda born 1810-1815 Shelby County, KY. She married Alonzo Gale (1809-1861), 6 March 1831 Bartholomew County, IN. Matilda died 12 March 1835 Johnson County, IN. Alonzo Gale, son of Isaac Gale & Persis Stiles, is listed in the 1840, 1850 & 1860 censuses of Johnson County, IN.
Alonzo & Matilda were buried in the Nineveh Christian Church Cemetery, Nineveh, Johnson County, IN.
• Joseph born 8 April 1815 Shelby County, KY. He married Martha Ann Gale (1814-1856, daughter of Isaac Gale & Persis Stiles), 28 January 1836 Bartholomew County, IN; Mrs. Mahala (Shoemaker) Troutman (1815-1859), 6 May 1857 Fulton County, IN; and Rachel, 1860-1863. Joseph Robinson is listed in the 1840, 1850 & 1860 censuses of Bartholomew County, IN. Joseph died 14 February 1863. He was buried in the New Hope Cemetery in Bartholomew County, IN.
