    Miles Thompson Myers, of Sligo, 89, died at 8 pm Saturday in his home following a lingering illness.
    Born in Piney twp, Clarion county, Sept 15, 1867, he was a son of Valentine and Mary Jones Myers.
    He was a member of the Pine Grove Methodist Church.
    He was married to Myrtle A. McDowell, June 20, 1889, who survives.
    Also surviving are six children: Mrs. Carrie Altman, George, Mrs. Lena Over, and Mrs. Helen Dixon, all of Sligo; Glade of Karns City, and Mrs. Amy Wyman of Oil City; 19 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by a son, Chester, who died in June and two infant children.
    Services will be held at 2:30 pm today ‎(Tuesday)‎ in the Guy M. Hawk Funeral Home, Sligo. Interment will be in Pinegrove Cemetery.
