'Mary (recorded as Marie), b. Jan. 4, 1652/3; living Nov. 5, 1740, when her father's estate was settled, d. before Jan. 22, 1740/1, when her son Ephraim Wilder was appointed administrator of her estate; m. Lancaster, Jan. 24, 1673/4, Lt. Nathaniel Wilder, b. Charlestown, Nov. 30 (3?), 1650, killed by Indians at Lancaster, July 31, 1704, son of Thomas and Anna Wilder.'

This article (on page 75) indicates that although her father died in 1706, his estate was not settled until after the death of his son Thomas in 1736 - final settlement was on Nov 5 1740.

  4.   Source:Houghton, John W. Houghton Genealogy : The Descendants of Ralph and John Houghton of Lancaster, Massachusetts; with an Introduction Giving the, p. 91, says that James Houghton married Mary Sawyer, "presumably" the daughter of Thomas Sawyer. However, Source:Holman, Mary Lovering. Ancestry of Colonel John Harrington Stevens and His Wife, Frances Helen Miller, p. 48, presents abstracts of the probate of Thomas Sawyer which mention several times daughter Mary Wilder, i.e., she actually married Nathaniel Wilder as most sources indicate. As Houghton offered no evidence to support the James Houghton assertion, we cannot not identify the source of his confusion, but his presumption appears incorrect.
