  2.   Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Ross Trammell, 67, of Pembroke Place, died Wednesday at 4:20 pm at a Rome hospital following an extended illness.
           Mrs. Trammell was born in Floyd County, February 5, 1920, daughter of the late Charley Boyd Ross and Katie Gertrude Simmons Ross. She had been a resident of Floyd County all her life and was a member of North Rome United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Celanese Fibers Corporation for a number of years.
           Survivors include her husband, George Clinton Trammell Jr, to whom she was married July 23, 1934; a son, George Clinton (Pat) Trammell III of Rome; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Carol Griffin, Mrs. Connie Ross Shaw and Mrs. Ellen Olivia Mathis, all of Rome; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Hardin of Harlingen, Texas; a brother Lamar (Doc) Ross of Rome; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.
           Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 pm in North Rome United Methodist Church with the Revs. Leland Bagwell and Charles Nicklaus officiating. Interment will be in East View Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church on Friday at 2 pm to lie in state prior to the service hours.
           All pallbearers are asked to assemble at the church at 2:45 pm Friday and will include the following gentlemen: Clint Trammell IV, Boyd Trammell, Kurt Trammell, Phil Trammell, Charles Griffin Jr, Dayton Shaw, Dan Mathis and Ed Earle. The honorary escort will be comprised of Delmas Franklin Sr, Jimmy Johnson, Stanley Payne, Broadus Coker and Wilson Cook.
