About Mary Porter

Mary Porter was the daughter of Wm. Porter Jr. and Mary Bowen. She married Robert Sharp in Rockbridge County. Virginia soon after Oct. 11, 1796, the date of the marriage bond. Her father signed the bond. She died in Tenn. at the age of 81. Robert Sharp was the son of John and Ann ____ Sharp and was born April 7, 1772 probably in PA. He had lived in Chester Co. PA. and Augusta Co.VA. He died in Rutherford Co., Tenn. June 12, 1849. He was a farmer. Robert and Mary's children were: Mary B. 1802-1865, John 1803 m. Sally Price, William P. 1804, Jane B. ca 1806, Ann B. died bef 1828, Elizabeth M., James B., Joseph D. 1814 and Margaret D.E.M.
