OBIT: MARK SCOTT, a prominent farmer residing a mile and one-half southwest of Scircleville, died very suddenly at 12:15 this afternoon following an attack of apoplexy. Mr. Scott arose at his usual time this morning and was busy with the work around the farm until the noon hour, when he went to the house for the noonday meal. Upon entering the kitchen he remarked to his wife that he felt as if he didn't care about dinner and that he believed he would lie down for a brief rest. Going into an adjoining room he lay down on a sofa and apparently fell asleep. The wife was attracted by the sound of his heavy breathing and going to his side, she attempted to awaken him, but was unable to do so. Becoming alarmed at his condition, she summoned a physician, but her husband was dead before the physician arrived. The deceased was one of the most prominent farmers in the eastern part of the county and has lived in the neighborhood of the place where he died practically all his life. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and one daughter. The sons, Everett and Marvin, live on farms in the vicinity of their father's place. The daughter, Mrs. G.F. Benge, resides in Anderson. Mr. Scott was a member of the Baptist Church located close to his home and had always been a faithful attendant. He was highly respected by those who knew him well. No arrangements for the funeral have been made. County Coroner Marion Carter was called to Scircleville to investigate the death.
