Facts and Events
Mark Grant was baptised on 5th January 1834 at Sidlesham in Sussex, son of Mary Ann Grant, formerly Chaffer, and her husband Charles Grant a labourer and later fisherman. Mark appears in the 1841 census living at Mill in Sidlesham parish. By 1851 the family was living at a place called "Late Ransoms" (probably indicating it used to belong to someone called Ransom) and Mark was working as a fisherman.
Mark died as a young man of just 22 years old, being buried at Sidlesham on 28th March 1856.
