OBIT (THE ARGUS, Rock Island, IL., 18 Aug 1983) “MARIE VOLLMER Funeral services for Mrs. Marie M. Vollmer, 85, of 2160 29th St. Rock Island, who died yesterday, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hodgson Funeral Home, Rock Island. The Rev. Henry C. Lubben and the Rev. Philip J. Breyer, pastors of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island, will officiate, and burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation is 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the above church. Pallbearers are Lawrence and Kenneth Geiger, Mark Hamman, Harry theus, Phillip Kendall, and Clifford Hawkins. The former Marie M. Theus was born April 17, 1898, in Rock Island, the daughter of Stephen and Lena Stoit Theus. She was a life resident. She was married to Earl C. Vollmer June 19, 1922, in Rock Island. He died June 6, 1981. Mrs. Vollmer was a member of the above church, and the LWML, the Ladies Society and the Rebeccas of the church. She also was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Retirees. Surviving are a son, Donald E. of Savanna; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Edna Mangeldsorf and Miss Mabel Theus, both of Rock Island.”
