    CHINN, Rawleigh & DOWNMAN, Margrett (wid.); c. 1 Oct 1729; Grand jury presented CHINN & DOWNMAN of NFP for living in adultery; in Jun 1728 & Nov 1731 DOWNMAN was presented for having an illeg. child; she pleaded not guilty to living in adultery in Feb 1731/32; in Apr 1732 a jury found her guilty of fornication & fined her; the same jury found that she could not be guilty of adultery since she was a single woman; Rawleigh CHINN (d. Dan _____ one of the churchwardens of Northfarnham parish this day presented Mrs Margaret Downman for absenting herself from _____ Parish church for one month. It is therefore ordered that the Sherriff summons the said Margaret Downman to next court to answer same.
