User:Persisto - This is a good companion book to Margaret Lester Hill's Ball Families of Virginia's Northern Neck: An Outline. It's chief advantage is that the genealogy is presented in standard register format, making it easier to locate a specific descendant. Although the title page states "Research by Diane=Cukro" it contains no original research. Rather, it is a compilation of secondary sources. As a result, it repeats many errors even though significant information in Hill's book specifically contradicts it. Another advantage of this book is that it references each secondary source in the notes for each individual, which can be looked up. A significant drawback is that the book is neither paginated nor indexed. This was corrected by Margaret Forrester in 2009, who numbered the pages and created an index to it. [Call #E-8n(1)].
