Obituary[9] 26 Dec 1972 PHILLIPS -- Mrs. Manette L. Haggan, 75, died unexpectedly at her home here, Sunday night.
She was born in Phillips, Oct. 25, 1897, the daughter of Frank and Rosie Wing Harnden. She received her education in Phillips schools and on Feb 28, 1914, she was married to Carlton Haggan in Phillips by Rev. Melvin S. Hutchins. Mrs. Haggan was a member of the Congregational Church and was active in the Ladies Social Union and the Phillips Garden Club of which she past president. She was past district director of the Androscoggin District, Maine Federation of Garden Clubs.
Surviving are her husband of Phillips; three daughters, Mrs. June Durell, Strong, Mrs. Anita Storer, and Mrs. Florice Sanders, both of Avon; three sons, Harold of Strong, Howard of Farmington, and Ronald of Phillips; a sister Mrs. Zelda Harnden, Bristol, Conn.; 19 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
