MABEL HOUSEL IS DEAD AT AGE OF 69

Funeral Services for Butler Area Widow will be held on Wednesday Afternoon at an Auburn Funeral Home

Sept 22, 1963 Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel R. Housel, 69, of Rt. 1, Butler, will be conducted at the Wm. H. Loy funeral home in Auburn at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. George W. Schette, pastor of the St. Mark's Lutheran church in Auburn, will officiate at the services and burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, near Auburn. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Tuesday. Mrs. Housel died at her home at 2:20 p.m. Sunday after an illness of six months. She had been a patient of Dr. Bonnell M. Souder hospital in Auburn for 10 weeks before returning to her home about six weeks ago. She was born on May 31, 1894, in Dekalb county and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Ira Goetschius. She and Walter Housel were united in marriage at Jackson, Mich., on April 11, 1917. Mr Housel preceded his wife in death. She resided in Dekalb county all her life with the exception of 15 years when she lived in Allen county. Mrs. Housel was a member of Pythian Sisters No. 428 at New Haven and the St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Auburn. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Rose Gabet of Rt. 1, Butler and Mrs. Rhea Berry of near Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild and a brother, Jay Goetschius of 115 West Second street, Auburn.
