Frank Goetschius - 1962 - Garrett - Employee of International Harvester Co, Frank D. Goetschius, 65, died Wednesday in Garrett Community Hospital after a long illness. The wife, Mabel, three daughters, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, one brother, and one sister survive. Calling at McKee Funeral Home after 7:30 p.m. Masonic rites there at 8 p.m. Friday, and final rites at 2 p.m. Saturday. Frank Goetschius Dies After A Long Illness Frank D Goetschius, 65, of 1 1/2 miles southwest of Garrett died Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the Garrett Community hospital from complications. He had been in poor health since 1955 and entered the hospital last July 8. The body is at the McKee funeral home where friends may call after 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held at the funeral home Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Glenn Mulligan of the Cedar Creek Church of the Brethren officiating, Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, northwest of Garrett. The Masonic Lodge will hold services at the funeral home Friday at 8 p.m. Mr Goetschius, who was employed at the International Harvester Co in Ft. Wayne before becoming ill, was born Oct 20, 1896, in Auburn, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs, Ira Goetschius. He was married Dec 20, 1916 to Mabel Harvey of Rt. 1, Garrett, at Hillsdale, MI. Surviving besides the widow are three daughters, Mrs Georgia Moody, of Rt 1 Garrett, Mrs William Lauth of Detroit, and Mrs. Donovan Gibson, of Miami, Fl; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.; a brother Jay Goetschius of 115 West Second Street, Auburn, and a sister, Mrs Mabel Housel of Butler. |
