On the census 1850 age 20, b. Oh., at home with parents in Marion Twp., Hocking Co., Oh. [p 855 fam #212/218] It appears that David's parents were Christorpher and Barbary A. (__) Conrad, "who came from Wirt Co. , W.Va. in 1827." (then W.Va. was part of Va.) [THE REPORT, Vol 23, #4, Winter, 1983, p. 217.] The 1860 census shows us David "Coonrod", age 45, b. Va., a farmer with $400 in real estate and $353 in personal belongings. Lucinda is age 30, and taking care of her four children in Goodhope, Hocking Co., Oh. [p 37 fam #522/515] By 1870 David "Coonrad", age 54, values his farm in Goodhope at $3000. Lucinda, now 40, is taking care of their six children.[p 453 fam #168/168] David died 4 Feb 1875 in Hocking Co., Oh., and was buried in Conrad Cemetery, Good Hope Twp., Hocking Co., Oh. The Cemetery appears to be in a poorly accessible area, as a notation reads "this family cemetery was found only with the help of historian...." [from THE REPORT, Ohio Gen. Soc. Newsletter, Vol 23, #2, Summer 1983, p. 73.] Just why Lucinda went to Brown Twp., Darke Co., Oh., is not known. Lucinda died 27 Mar 1878 in Darke County, Oh., and was buried in Old Brick Cemetery, Randolph Co., Ind.
