Quote from Buracker & Boraker Family Newsletters, #43, Dec 2008" about the 1850 census: "If William were 37 years old, he would have been born about 1813, one year before his parents were married in 1814. He was actually 27 as confirmed by the next census. 'Sarah' (a male) has been confused with 'Isaiah'. The census taker must have had a bad day."

(I have a dau Mary Ann b in 1845 (see 1850 & 1860). She does not appear to be on this list tho the M. A. Boraker, age 21 is in the right sequence to be Mary Ann. But there's not only a 4 yr age difference but the record shows this M. A. is male and works in a saloon. So there is a puzzlement here. I have not used this record as a source for Mary Ann's 1870 residence.)
