“Mrs. Sturgeon Passes Away
A member of an early Uniontown family, Mrs. Laura Frost Sturgeon, died at 5 a. m. today in Uniontown Hospital.

Mrs. Sturgeon was born in Pittsburgh in 1878, the daughter of Wallace Frost and Lida Barton Harah Frost, both of old Uniontown families. After her father's death in 1892, Mrs. Sturgeon's family returned to Uniontown.

In 1910 she was married to Daniel Sturgeon, eminent Pennsylvania lawyer, and member of another prominent old Uniontown family. Mr. Sturgeon died in 1925, and after some years travel and residence in California, Mrs. Sturgeon returned to Uniontown in the White Swan Hotel where she lived until her final illness.

Mrs. Sturgeon had no children. She is survived by a brother, Wallace Frost of Birmingham, Mich.; a nephew, Jon Wallace Frost, and three grand-nieces, Harah, Wallis and Ferris Frost, all of Fountain Creek Ranch, Colorado.

Mrs. Sturgeon was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Daughters of 1812, the Uniontown Country Club, and was a long-time donor to many charitable institutions.

Friends will be received at Johnston's Funeral Home Friday afternoon and evening. Dr. William R. Johnston will conduct funeral services there Saturday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.”
