Judith Sear's origins are unknown. Her first confirmed sighting is on 21st October 1778, when she married George Kempson at Totternhoe in Bedfordshire. Between 1779 and 1798, George and Judith had nine children baptised at Totternhoe, although one died as a baby.

Judith's son George married in 1802, and her first grandchild was born in 1804.

George died in 1815, aged 71. Judith survived him by seven years and died aged 61, being buried at Totternhoe on 2nd March 1823. She had seen at least thirteen grandchildren born in her lifetime, all of whom were born at Totternhoe.
