Hi Darrell, More questions for you. Still determined to find Allen Warner and still working on the Census records and still have to go back to the Library for something I overlooked. There was an Emma Warner in the 1870 census index on page 30 Mudlick Precinct, and I didn't copy page 30! If this is another daughter of Allen and Margaret Warner living with someone else, maybe Allen and Margaret have died. I will also pick up page 52 Owingsville Jack Warner who may be the father of James the black man whose will you have. While I am at it I plan to get those named Warren in Bath County. They are mixed up with the Warners and need to be sorted out. MARGARET MONTJOY I think the 1870 Census records for Jonas Warner in Mudlick Precinct make it pretty certain that John, Thomas, Ida, Elizabeth and Minna are named Mtjoy/Montjoy? It seems like pretty good proof to me. I think James belongs to Jonas though. What is the source of the marriage date for Jonas and Margaret? Who was Margaret Montjoy's first husband and did he leave a will or estate division? Did he even die in Bath County? What was Margaret's maiden name? She may not have been married to ____ Montjoy yet in 1850 Census, but with son John born 1854 she should show up in the 1860 census with John, Thomas and Ida. Wish our 1860 Index was reliable. Because I was hot on the trail of the Moore Family of Bath County I copied every vital record I could find on them. With Montjoy so near to Moore in the alphabet, I had hoped that I might find a Montjoy in there somewhere. I sifted through the records and found not one Montjoy in Bath County, but several Montjoy or Mountjoy marriage records in Montgomery County. They were pretty early and none involved a woman named Margaret. Next time I'm at the Library I'll see if I can find something in Montgomery County 1860 Census, maybe the index covers Montgomery County. The source of my question about Jonas having three wives was a download from a WARNER file found at internet address- http://members.aol.com/Jo209/page4.html This file lists Idia b. 1860 and Minnie b. 1864 as children of Jonas and unknown 3rd wife Children of Jonas and Margaret Montjoy were listed as James Warner b. 1873, and Dolly Staton Warner born 1872. It also says that James married Bath County, KY June 13, 1891 Lula Crouch. (Is that correct?) Thomas born 1858 was listed under Jonas and Elizabeth Clayton.

GEORGI ANN [WARNER] RUNNELS- Again the 1860 Census has an anomaly- Georgiann [Warner] Runnels seems to have been counted twice in adjacent records. Owingsville P.O. Dwelling 273, Family 273 Jonas Warner included her as the eldest of his children as GeorgiAnn Warner age 33 then listed eight other children. But on the next line in Dwelling 274, Family 274 she is Georgi A. Rennolds age 33 and head of her own housesehold including five Rennolds children.

SARAH WARNER One that bothers me is Sarah Warner daughter of Jonas and Elizabeth [Clayton] Warner. She was born 1837 according to the 1850 Census. Sarah is still in father's household in 1860, born 1836 and listed as Sarah Warner. Then in 1870 she seems to be with her siblings in Mudlick Precinct, Dwelling 158, Family 160, page 31. Lansdale Warner 21, was head of household along with sisters Sarah Warner 34 or born 1836, Debora Warner 31, and Maranda Warner 18. With them is also a William Warner age 5. Who does William belong to? By 1880 a Sallie Warner born 1833 and single, is enumerated with Jonas Warner age 72, both living in the household of Sarah [Warner] McDonald and husband. Also present is the widow Nannie [Warner] Walters born 1847, another daughter of Jonas. The record says Sarah married John B. Oakley on March 9, 1854. Did he die before 1860?. Did she take back her maiden name for some reason? Do I have the Sarahs mixed up and there is more than one?

MARGARET ARNOLD- Margaret said in land division document to have been the wife of David Arnold. Early Marriages in Bath County, by Paul McClure, page 4- "ARNOLD, Joseph, & Margaret Warner, 18 Jun 1851. (SMc)" SMc, was Samuel N. McCormick, elder of Church of Christ. There was a record of a David B. Arnold marriage to Maranda McHenry bond 7 Oct 1847, bondsman John D. Young. I looked for any Arnold in the 1860 census, but without an index I could easily have missed him. There was neither a David, Margaret, nor a Joseph Arnold in Bath County in the 1870 Index, but a Joseph lived Fleming County, Hillsborough Pct. 435, and is a possibility.

NANNIE [WARNER] WALTERS KOPP 1870 Owingsville Pct., Owingsville P.O., 195/195 p.59B, G. W. Walters 30 born VA, a plasterer with $1200 real estate, Nannie Walters 27 or born 1843 (born 1842 in 1850 Census, born 1844 in 1860 Census, born 1847 in 1880 census) keeping house and Nannie WARNER age 8 living with them. Who is she? I think the enumerator meant to indicate that everyone but George was born in KY but the ditto marks after the "Virginia" make it appear that everyone else on the page below George was also born VA-highly unlikely! By 1880 Owingsville Precinct, Dist #3, 403/405 there was a Nannie Walters, widow aged 33 (fudged a bit on her age?) living in the household of Matt and Sallie [Warner] McDonald along with Jonas Warner age 72, and Sallie Warner single woman age 47. She must have married Will Kopp after 1880. By 1910 she was Nannie Kopp and living Eaton, Lorain County, Ohio according to brother Jacob's obituary. Does that sound right to you?
