Parentage of John Young

A Familysearch submission claims that the parents of John Young are Lawrence and Margaret Young of Spotsylvania County, Virginia, but this appears to be in error; others have his parents of Samuel Young and Janet 'Jane' Haynes, which appears to be more credible since Samuel Young is listed in several Augusta County records. More research may be needed.

• Vol. 1 - NOVEMBER, 1793. - John Young vs. Rankin.--Plaintiff in 1784 married Mary Rankin, daughter of George Rankin. John Rankin was a brother of George. Mary died 1788 leaving one child, a son; John Young is married again 25th May, 1793.
