Overview

John (240) is said to have been "an original settler of Delaware Colony". [2] This John apparently lived in the Appoquinimink Creek Creek area of New Castle. He died about 1686/7, naming only his wife Dorthy as his heir. He is commonly thought to have been the father of Person:John Walker (239) and wife Wybregh, who lived in this same area, but direct evidence for this is needed.

  2. This is unclear. Delaware was not an independant entity until the time of the Revolution. The area was under the administration of Pennsylvania and Maryland, though it had a great deal of autonomy. The original settlers were the Swedes and the Dutch. John could have been of their number, but then would have been a settler of either New Sweden or New Netherlands.
