  • Summers, John, born 1760 in Augusta County (area later Rockbridge County), Virginia; entered service 1780 in Virginia Regiment; moved after Revolutionary War to Fayette County, Kentucky, then to Clark County, Kentucky, thence Green County, Kentucky, thence Barren County, Kentucky, thence Warren County, Tennessee, thence Jackson County, Alabama where he applied for pension 1833 & pension application rejected for less than 6 months service; applied for pension again 1837 & pension application rejected.
