Overview

John Snoddy was born in 1758 in Rowan County NC. He served in the Revolution beginning 1775 when he volunteered for the North Carolina militia from Rowan County. His service, in one capacity or another, continued through the end of the Revolution. He moved to Kentucky in 1782, his property in North Carolina having been destroyed by Tories. He lived there for 41 years, before moving to Owen County, Indiana about 1823, dying there in 1843.

Marriage

John married twice. His first wife was Agnes Niblock, whom he married in 1778 in North Carolina.

After Agnes' death he married Nancy Neil in 1796 in Bourbon County KY.
