In 1841 he moved to Indiana and settled in Jefferson Twp, where he resided till his death. He leaves 3 daughters and 2 sons. End of Sharon's research for John Potts. She also has pictures of his tombstone in Sweet Cemetery, Noble County, which I have not included.

Oscar Burton Robbin's says that William Imes was Guardian for John Potts in his later years but I have not found record of that. His bio above says he lived with Abigail in Noble County in his later years; and he is buried in Noble County. But I have not put that as his place of death as there was some question about it.

John's name is misspelled in the 1880 census so that it doesn't show up in searches. It is spelled Johm Potts. 1880 Household: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace Johm POTTS Self Male W 74 CAN Farmer CAN CAN Nelson POTTS Son Male W 34 IN Carpenter CAN NJ Sarah J.
