Updated DNA analysis 2025: This man was thought to be the John referred to in the will of William Morrow of Greene Co, IL, the son of William and Jane Morrow. The first results from William descendants did not match at all, and he was removed on that basis. However, additional testing from a different son of William does match--loosely--and moreover additional testing on those first results indicates they are not Morrow at all. Accordingly, it remains possible that this man is the son of William Morrow, but the DNA results are only at 34/37 markers, so more testing would be helpful.

There is also a match between this man and descendants of other parts of Group 4 (James Morrow of Orange Co, NC and the Murray families), but the match is 33/37 markers. That is supposed to correlate to common ancestor sometime between 650 and 1750. See Group 4 on this list of participants.
