Will of John Houston
In the name of God Amen I John Houston of the County of Blount and State of Tennessee do make and ordain this my last will and testament first I commit my soul to God who gave it and my body to be decently buried my funeral expenses to be paid.
Second as to the worldly Substance with which providence has blessed me consisting of one bay horse three years old, two cows and calves, thirteen head of hogs, one wagon and hind gears, four head Sheep, one horse plow and large strechers Brass clock and case, one book Case and Cupboard, two beds and bedsteads, my stock of Books, two tables, eight chairs, all my Kitchen furniture, one not of hand for wool of two waggons credit by one executed by David Ashmore 14t October 1822. One book account against William Lowry for fifty five dollars now due, all of which property note and accounts, I appoint for the express purpose of paying my just debts and that it many the more speedily be done I authorize Dyars Canton? either by public or private Sale of my above Specified property to wake sant? payments and last appoint and constitute my son John Houston Executor of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal 26th March 1835
