- ↑ 3.0 3.1 3.2 3.3 PENINSULA PIONEER The body of John R. Helferich, age 70, who died Nov. 22 at the home of his son, Earl of Lansing was brought to this city for interment in Oakwood cemetery. Mr. Helferich was born near St. Clair in 1861. He came to the Peninsula a short time later and resided there the remainder of his life except the last year during his illness. Left to mourn their loss are two daughters, Mrs. Minnie Rokos of Grand rapids and Mrs. Blanche Colerick of Old Mission, three sons, William of Washington and Earl and Frank both of Lansing, a sister, Mrs. Addie Miller of Traverse city and one brother George Helferich of Old Mission. There are also 12 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many friends.
