[edit] Source[edit] RelatedWelsh Hays Line in Chester County[edit] Overviewrom History of Delaware county, Pennsylvania Hayes, Richard, Sen., with his wife Issatt and two sons, Richard and John, emigrated from Ilmiston, Pembrokeshire, Wales, to Pennsylvania in 1687, and settled in Haverford. He was a Friend, was advanced in years at the time of his settlement, and died in 1697. Nothing further is known about John. A possibility is that he is the person:Jonathan Hays (2) who lived in the same general area as Richard (12), and hence John (68), and is said to have relocated to New Castle Delaware, his children later settling in Fredericks County MD. If that were proven to be correct, then the Welsh Hays, and Fredericks County Hays lines would have the same founding Patriarch, Richard Hayes (12). |
