John Dugger (Jr) was born ca 1743 or earlier, assuming he was 21 when his first public record was made in 1764.

John (son of John and Priscilla) was almost always referred to as John "Jr" in the records in order to distinguish him from his father. In fact the father outlived the son by one year, John Jr dying in 1802, Sr in 1803.

On 22 Jul 1764 John Dugger Jr was given 1/2 salary as Clerk of the Middle Church. This is the first time John Jr was listed on a public record.("Bath Parish Register of Dinwiddie and St Andrew's Parish Vestry Book of Brunswick" by William Lindsay Hopkins, 1989)
