Joel W. Ferree born 1760, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Innkeeper and Farmer, married about 1786, Mary Bressler, born 14 September 1768, (daughter of Johann George Bressler and Veronica ("Fannie") Herr) died before 1806. Joel died 1802, Lockhaven, Clinton County, Pennsylvania, buried: 1802, SW Side of Lockhaven, Pennsylvania. Joel was an innkeeper at Lampeter, Pennsylvania until 1794, when he moved to Clinton County and purchased the Deep Spring Farm, near present-day Salona, Clinton County, Pennsylvania. Joel built a large house on the farm, in which his daughter, Rebecca was born in 1799. By 1801, Joel must have become critically ill, as he sold his farm to his father-in-law, George Ferree. His wife was still living at that time, as she also signed the deed. Following his death, his family was taken in by George and Fannie Bressler, who raised the children.
