Biography

On August 16, 1825, in Deerfield, New Hampshire, Joel Bean married Lydia Chase (1808-1886) the daughter of Jacob and Rhoda Chase. Joel and Lydia were the parents of seven children, the first born in Gilmanton, NH, and the youngest born in Brentwood:

  • Laommi Chase Bean, born 1826;
  • David Chase Bean, born 1828;
  • Elbridge G. Bean, born 1835;
  • Melissa Bean, born 1837;
  • Mary Ellen Bean, born 1841;
  • Moses Wheelock Bean, born 1842;
  • Charles Warren Bean, born 1847

Loammi married Hannah P. Brickett and Elbridge married Betsey Brickett, her sister. Both were the daughters of Abram Brickett and Violette (Woodward) Brickett.
