James Parks born January 30, 1761 in Horseshoe, Md. and died March 13, 1837. The father of James Parks was James Parks (Sr) who was born in Ireland but lived in Scotland and immigrated to America from there. (This according to the family Bible of Vickie McClement, descendent of James Parks and Jane Buchanan.) James Parks (Jr) migrated from Rockbridge Co VA to Scott Co KY in or about the year 1790 (Source: a biography of H.S. Parks, farmer of Georgetown, son of Ebenezer and Elizabeth born in 1823) and settled about 2 and 1/2 miles of Newton.

Ebenezer Parks, born 12 August, 1800, KY. Died 11 April 1824, Scott Co. KY Married Elizabeth Woodgate. After his death she married Ebenezer's brother Rice Hall Parks. (From a biography of H.S. Parks, farmer of Georgetown, son of Ebenezer and Elizabeth born in 1823. Ebenezer's son, H.S. Parks said his father Ebenezer was a cabinet-maker and was the son of James Parks. Jane M. Parks, born 17 July 1803 KY, died 28 July 1836 Macomb, McDonough Co., IL. Married John Oxley. 3 children Price Ricketts Parks born 31 Jan 1806 KY, died 14 Jan 1864 Boone Co MO. Married Elizabeth Rogers. No children. Rice Hall Parks born 27 June 1810 Scott Co KY and died 1892 (?) Scott Co KY.
