Indenture 25 Mar 1865 Between James S. McCrone, John McCrone, Leontine N. McWhorter and Dr. James R. Andre, executors of the last will and testament of John McCrone late of the Hundred and County of New Castle and State of Delaware, deceased and Thomas Holcomb of the same place Whereas John McCrone deceased in his life time owned land bounded by land owned by the heirs of John Peach, land owned by the heirs of Edward Edwards, and lands of Henry J. Tatnal, containing 140 acres more or less and he made his will on 1 Aug 1862 which directed his executors to sell the land within two years of his decease (Will Record Book Y, p. 349) and the land was sold at public auction to Thomas Holcomb for $19,735 on 18 Nov 1864, [detailed description of land -- note: Clark's Corner is now known as Hare's Corner] Signed James S.
