Will of Isaac Snodgrass
- Casey Co., Kentucky, Will Book 1, page 75:
- August the twenty fourth in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and Eighteen. In the name of God Amen I Isaac Snodgrass of Casey County and State of Kentucky being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind & Memory blessed be almighty God for the same considering the uncertainty of this mortal life do make and ordain this my last Will & Testament.
- First, it is my will that my body be buried in a decent Christian like manner--
- Secondly that all my just and lawfull debts and Several expenses be paid out of my Estate--
- Thirdly I do will and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sally W. Snodgrass one third part of all my Real and Personal Estate for and during her natural life--
- Fourthly I do Will and bequeath unto my sons Joseph and Isaac Snodgrass the sum of One Dollar Each--
- Fifthly I do will and bequeath unto my Daughter Margaret Snodgrass a Bay Mare known by the name of Ned and two featherbeds and furniture thereunto belonging also two cows known by the names of Flour & Pink with their Calves--
- Sixthly I do Will and bequeath unto my son Robert Snodgrass all my farm and tract of land on which I now [live] also all the _?_ _?_ and _?_ adjoining that said tract of land and at my wife Sally W. Snodgrass's death that it is to be understood that I have bequeathed to my son Robert Snodgrass her third part of said tract of Land--Also I do give him my Waggon with the harness also one Bay horse known by the name of Jim--
- Seventhly I do Will and bequeath all the Ballance of my Estate both Real and personal in manner following
- I do Will and bequeath unto my Grand Son Isaac McMurry one horse at least worth fifty dollars--
- I do will and bequeath to my daughter Polly Thomas one Dollar--
- Also I do will and bequeath unto my daughter Hannah McMurry one sixth part of said ballance of my Real and Personal Estate--
- I also will and bequeath unto my daughter Martha Wood one twelfth part of said ballance of my Estate both Real & personal--
- Also I do will and bequeath unto my daughter Sally OBanion one sixth part of said ballance of my Real and personal Estate--
- Also I do will and bequeath unto my daughter Margaret Snodgrass one sixth part of said ballance of my Real & Personal Estate--
- Also I do will and bequeath unto my son Robert Snodgrass one sixth part of the said ballance of my Real & Personal Estate Also one Cow and Calf and one featherbed and furniture--
- also I do will and bequeath unto my granddaughter Sally Witherow one twelfth part of said ballance of my Real and Personal Estate--
- it is my will that if Robert Snodgrass and Margaret Snodgrass should die without leaving any lawful heirs or heir the parts that I have willed and bequeathed to them shall decend to the others that is to say: Polly Thomas, Hannah McMurry, Sally OBanion, Margaret Snodgrass, Robert Snodgrass, & Nancy Adam--
- Lastly I do nominate constitute ordain and appoint James Carson and James Allen to be the sole Executors of this my last will and Testament--
- In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written.

- Be it Known unto all men by these presents that I Isaac Snodgrass of the County of Casey & State of Kentucky Have made and declared my last will and Testament in writing having date the Twentyfifth of August 1818 xxxxx by this present Codicil do ratify & confirm my said last will & Testament and do Further give and bequeath unto my son xxx Isaac Snodgrass my large hand xxx to be given by my Executors And Also do will and order that my son Robert Snodgrass all the loose Plank on the farm and will & meaning is that this Codicil be adjudged to be a part and parcel of my Will & Testament and that all things therein mentioned and Contained be faithfully & truly performed in every respect and the same way ordained in my last will & Testament. Witness my hand this day & date above written
