Henry Dugger was born ca 1769 or earlier, most likely in Surry Co, VA (though Brunswick Co, VA is possible as well). He is a proven son of Henry Dugger and Ann Bailey, and was named as such in Henry's Will (1805). Henry (referred to as "Jr" while his father was still living) was born ca 1769 or earlier. I based this on his first public record being found in 1790, and assuming he was at least 21 years old then, so that makes him born ca 1769 or earlier (but not much earlier). Henry Dugger Jr was listed on the 1790 Brunswick Co, VA Personal Property Tax list with 1 white poll, and no blacks. On 27 Feb 1792 Henry Duggar obtained a marriage bond in Brunswick Co, VA to marry Armon Duggar. The bond showed Armon to be a child of Lurany Price (daughter of John Dugger Sr), making them 1st cousins, once removed. The bondsmen for the marriage was Richardson Brown, Joseph Price (Armon's step-father), and Howell Duggar. (Armon's Uncle). Henry and Armon were married by Minister Aaron Brown on 1 Mar 1791 (sic, should probably say 1792). Armon Dugger was born ca 1772/73 in Brunswick Co, VA, apparently born out of wedlock to Lurany Dugger. Lurany married Joseph Price in 1784 and became her step-father. Henry Dugger Jr was listed on the 1793 Brunswick Co, VA Personal Property Tax list with 1 white poll, and no blacks. Henry Dugger Jr was not listed on the 1794, 1795, and 1796 tax lists in Brunswick. This may indicate a temporary move out of the county. However, he was back for the 1797 list. Henry Dugger Jr was listed on the 1797 Brunswick Co, VA Personal Property Tax list with 1 white poll, and no blacks. Henry Dugger Jr was listed on the 1798 Brunswick Co, VA Personal Property Tax list with 1 white poll, and no blacks. In November 1798, in Brunswick Court, John Murrell sued Henry Dugger Jr for debt. (Brunswick Co, VA Order Book 18 page 51). Henry Dugger Jr was listed on the 1799 Brunswick Co, VA Personal Property Tax list with 1 white poll, and no blacks. On 11 Feb 1799 John Dugger Sr (Henry Jr's Uncle) sold Henry Dugger Jr 100 acres of land on the north side of Gravelly Run. Witnesses were: James Stainback, Jordon Richardson and William Firth. (Brunswick Co, VA Deed Book 17 page 391). In June 1799, in Brunswick Court, the deed from John Dugger Sr to Henry Dugger Jr was proven in court by James Stainback, Jordan Rirchardson and William Firth. (Brunswick Co, VA Order Book 15 page 179) Henry Dugger Jr probably was listed on the 1800 census in Brunswick Co, VA; but unfortunately, this census was lost for the State of Virginia. (Brunswick Co, VA Deed Book 20 page 155). Henry Dugger died sometime between 8 Apr 1807 and 1808.
