In Surry County, Virginia Court in June 1768, the heirs of Edward Bailey, deceased, were named in a settlement of his estate. They were: Thomas King and wife Mary; Benjamin Putney and wife Sarah; Henry Dugger and wife Ann; William Bailey; Edward Marks and wife Lucy; John Bailey and Henry Bailey, infants, by Edward Bailey their brother and next friend. Thomas Bailey was the Executor of Edward Bailey, deceased, and probably also an heir. (Surry Co., VA Court Minutes 1764-1774 page 154).

The above record proves that Henry Dugger and Ann Bailey were husband and wife.

Children

Henry Dugger's Will was dated 9 Jul 1805 and in it he named his heirs:

  • son James Dugger; also named Executor
  • daughter Sally Shell
  • son Henry Dugger
  • daughter Rebecca Dugger

Son Sterling Dugger was not named, but he was dead before 1805. I don't know if there is direct proof that Sterling is a son of Henry and Ann. He is a proven grandson of Daniel and Mary, but his parentage isn't quite proven.
