    TROY PRESBYTERIANCEMETERY

Troy Presbyterian cemetery lies in the northeast corner of Lincolnway and county road Troy Presbyterian

Troy Presbyterian cemetery is located in the north east corner of Lincolnway and 650 W, the accompanying church being across Lincolnway.

Reading the cemetery starts in the south east corner with the rows running north and south.

Parts of the cemetery are old, the rows in many cases not running a straight line due to a family buying a large plot sometimes two graves deep.

Reading was done by Beverly Henley and checked by Linda Hollenbaugh and Jeanette Brown.

  3.   Family notes.

From Mommie's written notes: "Grandpa Gillam was an early pioneer in Indiana. He and Grandpa Beard both fought in the Civil War. I think Grandpa Beard was an early pioneer, too, as I know he had three brothers living in Northern Indiana so the family must have come to Indiana early."

Also, she has him listed in her mini genealogy chart as William Harvey Beard. I don't find this other places, I believe.

notes from Connie??? calls him William Harvey Beard Tue, Mar 23, 1999

Notes made at Allen Co Library on July 2000: Harvey Beard was a trustee of Jefferson Twp , Whitley Co 1891-1892

  4. Death notice
    Nov 1895.

    Harvey Beard Dead
Harvey Beard, a well known citizen of Jefferson Township died at his home last Saturday of asthma and throat troubles after a lingering illness. For some time past Mr. Beard was a great sufferer. His throat was apparently stopped up and he struggled and strangled for breath in a manner that was painful to behold. Every breath was a struggle and he died in awful agony. The deceased will be remembered as the old trustee of the township who met with financial reverses a couple years ago.
