Mrs. Elizabeth Beard Dies at Daughter's Home
Mrs. Elizabeth Ruth Beard died Tuesday night at 9:20 at the home of her daughter Mrs Alfred Brown at 609 Home Ave at Fort Wayne. She was a former resident of Roanoke, having gone only a short time ago to spend the winter in Ft. Wayne.
Mrs Beard was born July 21, 1851, making her 71 years, five months and five days old. Pneumonia was the cause of her death. She had been sick only a few days.
She leaves the one daughter at Ft. Wayne, two sons, Lawrence Beard of Larwell, In and Lima Beard of Jefferson Township, Whitley Co., two sisters, Mrs Hattie Jefferies of Roanoke and Mrs Ellen Thompson of Larwell and six grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Roanoke M.E. church, the Rev Emery C. Smith officiating. The burial will be at the I O O F cemetery at Roanoke.
