Harrison was born in the Eaton Homestead located on Trimble Road in Ontario, New York. After marrying Hazel Collier, he moved to her parent's home on Kenyon Road in Williamson, NY. He provided for his family in many ways; farming, tending boilers at Huxley's Canning Factory and Keymel's Dryhouse in Ontario, doing custon threshing and he retired from Eastman Kodak Co. where he did maintenance work.

After retiring he kept active by helping others. Harrison was an active life-long member of the Immanual Congregational Church. He sang in the choir and was lovingly known as the "candy man", because every Sunday he carried hard candy or Canada mints in his pocket, that he distributed to the children. He enjoyed good health and died peacefully at his home on Kenyon Road in 1980.
