Purchased in 1883, 25 acre farm from their uncle, George Harris. James Eaton is listed as a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Ontario, NY in 1888. "James T. was a farmer all his life and in politics he was a staunch Republican. He was a busy man for he not only farmed but during the harvest season he was on the road threshing grain. Then too, he had a mill where he ground the grain." [Wayne County Mail, May 23, 1958, p. 8]
