Unsubstantiated information was that she was a nurse. She was very active in the Daughters of Union Veterans and the Immanuel Congregational Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years and was financial secretary in 1957. Flora was also a member of the United Council of Church Women of Ontario, where she was its first treasurer in 1947.
