Facts and Events
George contracted TB after serving in France in 1918 and spent years in sanitoriums. He and his brother Edwin owned G&E Insurance Service in Spring Valley until it burned down spectacularly in the late 40s. George was head of the OPA and of Civil Defense in Spring Valley during World War II and was influential in obtaining the Volunteer Fire Department's first hook and ladder. He died prematurely of Addison's Disease. |
