When George young, family moved to Windsor, Ontario, Canada and later family settled on a farm near Harrow, Colchester area of Ontario. George ran away and chopped wood for his room and board while he attended school. Worked for James Howie, husband of Lydia Bell who was aunt of Margaret Brown. Lydia and brother, James Bell came from Scotland and had adjoining farms in Exxex County. Margaret came from Scotland at age 16 and stayed with her uncles James Bell. Could be how George and Margaret met. In Colchester Town Records in 1862, Geogre and Margaret joined the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Harrow about 1863 and attended service regularly. Margaret grew up in the faith of Scottish Presbyterian Church til her marriage.

Settled on farm near Harrow, Ontario, Canada and in 1872 moved to farm south of Disco, Mich. Later retired to village of Washington where George died. (by Bob Huggard)
