  2. 2.0 2.1 2.2 2.3 Maurice was born on the 10th of May, 1827 in Colchester Township, he died in Anderdon Township, Essex County, on April 25th, 1911, at the home of his son Maurice Jr. He is buried in the non-catholic section at St. Clement Catholic Church in McGregor, Essex County. In 1909 he was gored by an angry bull, and was badly crippled. He married Jeanne Drouillard, who was born in Sandwich Township, Essex County, about 1832, and died on the 26th of October, 1907, in Anderdon Township (St. Clement records show she was buried there in the Catholic section on the 10th of October). Maurice bought a 100 acre farm in Colchester South from his brother George. Maurice and Jeanne had two children:
    ---Marie Helferich was born about 1864, and married Michael Joseph Drouillard on April the 18th, 1882. He was the son of Henri Drouillard and Olive Renaud. They had eight children one of which was Joseph Henri Francis Drouillard who was born on the 26th of August, 1885.
