George Dunlop jnr., writer, lived in 1841 at 41 Hermiston House, Currie, Midlothian (census). In 1861 and 1869 (Edinburgh directory) a George Dunlop lived at Gogar House, close to Hermiston. In 1865 Mrs. Dr. Spens, 14 Drummond Pl., Edinburgh (directory, addressinghistory.edina).
George was a writer to the Signet (H. Nankivell, old country houses of the old Glasgow gentry). According to “Register of the Society of Writers to her Majesty’s Signet”, pub. Edinburgh 1983, George (b. 1812) was son and father to writers to the Signet.
