It will be interesting, at least to the descendants of Mr. Cramrine, to know that his genealogy, as far back as learned, is now shown by a table made up from the Parish Records of the Lutheran Church at Dottingen in Wurtemberg, Germany, and certified by the pastor in charge; from which, beginning with Thomas Krumrein, born in 1592, and, adding his ancestry in America through the immigrant, his line is as follows: Thomas Krumrein, born at Yungholzhausen in 1592; had son Georg, born 1629; who had son Georg, born 1667; who had son Georg Philipp, born 1696; who had son Georg Leonhardt, born 1719, who, in 1748, emigrated to America and settled in old Baltimore county, Md., and had a son Abraham, who had a son George, who had a son George and also a son Daniel, and one of Daniel's sons was our classmate, Boyd Crumrine. ---Encyclopedia of Pennsylvania Biography: Illustrated, Volume 2, 1914

An excellent well documented article on the George Krumrein and his family is given in the Pennsylvania Genealogical Magazine Vol 41 no 4 2000 by Dolores Crumrine Rutherford of Carmichael California (and an earlier article Vol 37 No 4 1990)

And on September 5, 1748, "the ship 'Edinburgh,' James Russell, master, from Rotterdam, last from Portsmouth," landed with one hundred and twenty-seven persons. In this list of names is that of "George Lenhart Krumrein."
The Lutheran Church Registry at Dottingen, in Wurtemberg, Germany, shows that "Hans Michael Krumrein" was born in Yungholzhausen, between the rivers Rhine and the Necker, not far from Stuttgart, in Wurtemberg, on June 13, 1713 and "communicated" for the "first" time in 1726. His name does not again appear upon the registry, as it doubtless would have done had he died or remained in the jurisdiction. The same registry shows the name of "George Leonhardt Krumrein" as born at the same place on September 7, 1719, and afterward as a communicant for the "last" time in 1746, after which his name is no more to be found, as it doubtless would have been had he died or remained in the Fatherland.

Two immigrants from Jungholzhausen migrated to America, the new land of opportunity, in 1732 and 1748. The two men were distant cousins. The first, Hans Michael Krumrein, settled in eastern Pennsylvania. The second, Georg Leonhardt Krumrein, who was 15 yrs. old when his cousin left, settled first in New Jersey, and later in Baltimore Co. (now Carroll Co.) Maryland.

Georg Leonhardt Krumrein was the father of nine children. As his will shows when probated in 1779 six children are named. The will also states he has nine children. In reported actions by the executor of the estate, three more children receive their full legacy from their father's estate. There were six boys and three girls.

Georg Leonhardt Krumrein was married to Margaret Krumrein in 1750 in Jungholzhausen. However, this was probably his second wife as Barbara and Eva Marie seem to pop up as wifely names to George and his many children. Georg bought land in Baltomore Co, Md in 1766 for 125 acres of land for 75 pounds of currency.

  7.   Georg Leonhardt Krumrein (1719 - 1779), in WikiTree.

GEORG LEONHARDT KRUMREIN was born in 1719 in Jungholzhausen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. He was the son of George Phillip Krumrein and Eva Barbara Dottigsman. Some records say he had a common-law marriage with Eva Margaretha Burkhardt in Germany, and that he had a child Maria Katharina Krummrein. He eventually came to America in 1748 on the ship “Edinburgh,” which landed in Philadelphia. The early census records show he settled in Philadelphia when he arrived. He married Anna Barbara (thought to be Crattinger/Krattinger) (~1729-unknown), daughter of _______, in 1751 in West Windsor Township, New Jersey at the Penns Neck Old Swedes Church. She was the widow of Johan Andreas Ridmann and had a child, Elizabeth, born in 1749. They resided in Salem County, New Jersey, given birth records of their children. They had around 6 children: Barbara; Abraham; Johan Christian?? (1755-1821); Susanna; Catharina; and George. He was a Lutheran and most of his records are related to the Lutheran church. His children were baptized at the Emanuel Lutheran Church of Friesburg, New Jersey. He eventually lived in York County, Pennsylvania given baptism records noting his sponsorship at the St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church and Sherman’s (St. David’s) Union Church. Around 1766 he moved to Maryland, residing in present day Manchester, Carroll County. There is no church records of George, but some of his children were noted in the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Some records claim Barbara died before him and he married a woman named Margaret and had 2 more children: Peter; and Michael. George is said to have died in 1779 in Carroll County, Maryland.
