- Note: the spelling was corrected from "Francis" to "Frances" for two of the granddaughters of Frances Clark, whom were obviously named after her.

- Page 488.--2d September, 1783. William McClintock's will--To wife, Martha, and after her death to son, Samuel, sole executrix; to son, William; to son, Samuel; to 3 married daughters, Francis Clark, Margaret Dogherty, Martha Philson; to 2 daughters, Prepare and Elizabeth, 400 acres on Cove Creek in Greenbrier County; to John McClintock, son to William McClintock; to grandson, John McClintock Dogherty. Teste: John Young, Samuel and Wm. Clark. Proved, 17th May, 1785, by Young, and 20th September, 1785, by Samuel Clark. Martha McClintock qualifies.

- This Indenture made this tenth day of August in the year one thousand eight hundred and seven between Basil Hunt of the County of Fleming and State of Kentucky of the one part and Frances Clarke of the County of Montgomery & state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of two Pounds ten shillings to him in hand paid the receipt is whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and forever acquit & discharge the said Frances Clark & her heirs & s. have granted bargained and sold aliend and Confirmed unto the said Frances Clark her heirs a parcel that tra[c]t or parcel of land situate lying & being in the County of Montgomery on the waters of main Licking & being a part of six thousand two hundred and twelve acres purchased of Wm. Burk containing by survey fifty acres & bounded as followeth. [boundaries omitted]... to have and to hold the lands hereby Conveyed with all Singular the premises & every of the appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise appurtaining to her the said Frances Clark her heirs & assigns to heirs and assigns to her and their only proper use & behoof forever & the said Basil Hunt as trustee for the said Frances Clark and other doth warrant and forever defend the said land & premises by these presents to the said Frances Clark her Heirs and assigns forever against the claim or claims of him the said Basil Hunt and Burn Perkins or their heirs and assigns forever and Whereas the said Basil Hunt purchased six thousand two hundred acres of land as a bond as trustee for and in Co-partnership with the said Frances Clark & others if said lland shall be lost by prior claims or otherwise then the said Frances Clark is not to look to the said trustee for any Consideration what is only such a part as falls to her of what money mar be recovered of said Burk agreeable to the Quantity & this is the true intent and meaning of the above Indentures. In Witness whereof he hath here unto set his hands & seals the day year first above written.

Frances McClintic was born in 1749 in Virginia. She married John Gridley Clark in 1771 in her hometown. They had 12 children in 44 years. She died before October 1822, in Bath, Kentucky, when her will was probated in Bath County, KY Court. [corrected, Find-A-Grave contributor has been messaged]
