Will Transcript
- Montgomery Co. KY Wills, Page 176. [Note the stark differences with the will abstract listed below]
- In the name of God Amen. I James Clark of Montgomery County and State of Kentucky revoking all others appoint this my last will and testament.
- I give my stud house and twenty dollars more to my brother John Clark.
- I give my rifle gun to my brother in Law James Butcher.
- And my Sheep to my sister Martha and twenty dollars more of my estate, give also to my Sister Martha
- I give my fifty acres of land with the improvements adjoining James Butcher and two of my fatning hogs which are in the pen and choice of my two wheat stats to my brother in Law John Daugherty.
- I give my gray horse colt to William Butcher son of James Butcher.
- I give my other fifty acres of land with the improvement adjoining the above mentioned fifty to my Mother Frances Clark
- I give my other two fatning hogs and my other wheat stack also to James Butcher.
- I give also to John Daugherty my nails and Spikes which I got for flooring my house.
- Lastly I give the remainder part of my estate to my brother Samuel Clark and my sister Prepere Magahey, Martha Butcher, EElizabeth Butcher, Margaret Daugherty and Frances Carrel to be equally divided amongst them and my mother Frances Clark to have half as much as one of them.
- I appoint John Clark and Isaac Butcher to be executors of this my Last will and Testament Witness my Hand & Seal the 9th January 1805

- Absolom Hunt, William Morgan, Edward Perkins [his x mark]
- At a Court held for Montgomery County the 3d day of June 1805. This will was proved by the oaths of Absalom Hunt and William Morgan, subscribing witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
- And on the motion of John Clark and Isaac Butcher the Executors therein named who made oath according to Law and together with Thomas Fletcher and William Lansdale their securities entered into and acknowledged their bond in the penalty of Four hundred pounds Conditioned as the Law directs Certificate is granted them for obtaining a probate thereof in due form.
