Martha McClintock, daughter of William McClintock of Augusta County, Virginia was named in her father's will as "Martha Philson". There is a nearby Pilson family Martha likely married into prior to the writing of his will in 1783. The father of this nearby Pilson family was Richard Pilson, an early settler in Augusta County that had acquired land just to the east of Martha's father, William McClintock/McClintic.

An Ancestry Tree claims that Martha's husband was a James Pilson, b. 1753, with no sources or documentation, so additional research is needed to determine who Martha's husband was.
